Spring is here and the ubiquitous sign of all things Easter is the egg. The egg is a symbol in many different beliefs and cultures, as it symbolizes fertility, new life, or new beginnings. When eggs are shared or used in spring and Easter celebrations, the meaning behind it is joy in a new life or the awakening of the Earth and Nature from a long Winter’s nap. Not only do eggs symbolize that we are in a process of developing ourselves spiritually, but it is said that if you dream of eggs, then it may indicate that you are ready to have a child, or you are “birthing” a new area of your life, and changes to achieve that goal will come to pass. Many spiritual workers also use eggs as symbolic items in ritual. Curanderos, or shamanic native healers from Central and South America, the United States and Mexico, use eggs as a central part of a limpia, or “cleaning/cleansing”, they will perform for you. Limpias are recommended when you have blockages in your life or you are experiencing a streak of bad luck, negativity, bad karmic situations, phobias, fears, and in some cases, curses that run through a family from generation to generation. Many use the egg as a source of divination once the spiritual cleansing ritual is performed. Some crack open the egg into a clear glass of liquid (usually water) and watch as the albumen, or egg white, swirls and form images that can then be interpreted or “read” in a spiritual consultation. This is for the spiritual worker to determine what form of action to take against the negative energy that is affecting the client’s success. Other cleansing rituals instruct you to break the eggs that were rubbed over your body into the toilet to flush them down and away as a symbolic act of breaking a relationship off with another. Duck eggs have also been employed in rituals regarding a woman’s reproductive health and issues with fertility. Parts of the eggs are also used in spiritual practices in the form of powdered eggshells, also called Efun in the African language known as Yoruba. Efun, or cascarilla as it is known in the United States and Latin America, is used to mark a spiritual circle before a ceremony, as an addition to spiritual baths for healing, cleansing, and protection, and it is also applied to certain areas of the body that are considered entry points for malicious spirits to try to gain entry to possess that person. Not only the egg is used in hoodoo, conjure, and magic, but also the chicken. traditional hoodoo practitioners may have “frizzled” chickens in their yard to ‘scratch’ up any items to jinx or “cross you up”. The “Frizzle” chicken is a specialty breed with characteristic curled or frizzled plumage. While the frizzle gene can be seen in many breeds, such as the Pekin and Polish, the Frizzle is a breed of chicken with characteristic curled or frizzled plumage. Chickens are also used in certain traditions to cleanse you as well. Depending on the belief system, a chicken will be ritually cleansed with water, prayed over, then passed over the entire of a person’s body to absorb the negativity and curse. It is then disposed of in the manner which the belief system dictates, and the person is considered cleaned of the condition. Orthodox Jewish customs have one special day where a live chicken is waved above a person’s head to cleanse them from all the negativity ofthe past year. Lastly, the chicken foot is considered a fetish or talisman used...
Posted by Jacqueline on Jan 5th, 2019 in Lodestones Use and Lore | Comments Off on Free Candle Spells | Lodestones: Mighty Minerals that Bring in Prosperity
In many magical systems of cultures, also known as folk magic, the use of the lodestone is a widely held traditional mineral to activate stagnant abundance and to increase the flow of prosperity into your life. Many carry a small lodestone in their pocket in a red flannel bag, and some have a larger one in a crystal dish on their altar or bureau, anointed with Hoyt’s Cologne, whiskey, or dusted with iron shavings (“Magnetic Sand/Dust”) to “feed” the lodestone. In the practice of African-American hoodoo, the belief that greenback dollar bills in an assortment of denominations that are placed under the lodestone for specific amounts of time, are ‘energized’ and empowered to be spent in belief that as they circulate the town in exchanges of hands, they will somehow “hunt down” and attract or capture more money. If that same said greenback dollar returns to you, it is like a double blessing, that it “returned home” and hopefully, will bring more like it. I have had that same concept happen to me, when I wrote a sigil on a dollar bill in red ink, spent it at a local grocer, and about three to four months later, my daughter received it back in change from the concession stand at her high school! Others who follow this belief of placing money under a lodestone in a dish, claim that you should spend the money that has been under the lodestone first, as the length of time will matter in the money-drawing strength. Others say that you use one piece of blessed money, and bringing back the change you get from each store, and placing that money under the lodestone. Others claim that signing your name over the printed name of the Secretary of Treasury on the lower left hand side, or drawing a magic sigil on the backside or the four corners of the greenback, and anointing the dollar with money drawing oil, will enhance its’ ability to ‘bring in money’. The aforementioned dollar that I encountered returning me had my signature as described above and the sigil of success in each corner. A money altar with lodestone in dish to attract money How to Create a Lodestone Altar Dish or Container The easiest way to create a place for your lodestone is to get a nicely decorated porcelain or ceramic bowl, or a crystal bowl. I use a lead crystal clamshell serving bowl that an old friend gave me as a gift because it is fancy and I can imagine wealthy people serving fine foods in it. I place a lucky $2.00 bill (you can get them from your bank) with sigils and prayers written on it in red ink, and place it at the bottom of the dish. I then place a layer of assorted coins from all over the world over the $2.00 bill, as a way to attract money from all over. Next, I place the money in order of the denomination: a $1.00 dollar billa $5.00 dollar billa $10.00 dollar billa $20.00 dollar bill and if I have it: a $50.00 dollar billa $100.00 dollar bill It is not necessary to have the last two, as it is sometimes hard to hold out and not obtain or even spend those last two, but if you are able to do so, add these last two bills to your dish as soon as you can. At this point, some people will dust each greenback bill with sachet powder, or pass them in the smoke of burning incense. There are variations in this practice, and it is best to...

The New Year is upon us and the year 2019 adds up to the magical number three. How is this done? By adding 2+0+1+9 = 12 = 1+2 = 3. This gives us a general idea of the energy that will be prevalent in your life this year. Coincidentally, this could be a “double down” year for the energy of 3 if your birth date adds up to 3 (i.e. 8+7+1+9+5+9 = 39, then adding 3+9 = 12, then 1+2 = 3. The person who has this birthdate will be called to use the energy of the meaning of the number 3 in their lives as they live, and this year being a “3” years, it will be doubly important, or a “double down” year for them. In your daily life, you already know the power of three and the memories or knowledge that the number three has for you. Some groups of three you may recognize are: The Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) The denial of Peter (“Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times” (John 13:38).) Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. Past, Present, and Future Beginning, Middle, End The Triple Goddess (Maiden, Mother, Crone) The Wiccan “Rule of Three” Three divisions of day (morning, noon, night) Three phases of the Moon Three finger pledge (index, middle, ring fingers) of the Boy and Girl Scouts. The Riddle of the Sphinx (look this one up) Primary Colors (Red, Yellow, Blue) Genies grant three wishes Three Blind Mice A Triangle (incidentally, the strongest geometrical shape) Columbus’ Ships (Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria) The Three Stooges (Curly, Moe, Larry) Rock, Paper, Scissors In numerology, three is considered emitting the energy of self-expression, social interaction, and optimism. If your birth date adds up to the number three, it is considered your life path number, and the events and circumstances that you experience in your walk in life are there to inspire your creativity or require you to come up with creative solutions. The 3rd card in a Tarot deck is the Empress card. According to Wikipedia, the Empress is mother, a creator and nurturer. In many decks she can be shown as pregnant. She can represent the creation of life, romance, art, or business. The Empress can represent the germination of an idea before it is ready to be fully born, and the need to be receptive to change Lastly, who can forget Schoolhouse Rock and that Saturday morning favorite video, “Three is a Magic Number” ...

“Jezebel wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She probably had less than every one of us. But when she knew how to walk she knew How to bring the house down. Can’t blame her for her beauty She wins with her hands down.” – Sade “Jezebel” “Workin’ that Jezebel Thang” In the last couple of years, there has been a new breed of female emerging in the areas of the media, music and film. Sassy, scrappy and definately sexy, in control of anything that is all about that money or satisfaction, her name might be RiRi or Nicki, Madonna or Kylie, but in reality, meet the women who can be considered the modern day face of Jezebel. Jezebel is a Queen whose story is in the Bible, and who married Ahab, convincing him to change his faith from Judaism to worship Baal, a Phoenician God. The Jewish faithful protested, a civil war broke out and ultimately, Jezebel was tossed from her window to her death. Originally linked to hedonism and false idolatry, in the latter 20th century, the name Jezebel became associated with promiscuous women, or women who used their sexuality to deceive and manipulate men into sinning with them. The term “fallen women”, ironically the method of Queen Jezebel’s death, was used as a label for any women who was abandoned by her man, or had charmed her way into more favorable circumstances by using her sexual wiles. Jezebel can them be considered a woman in the best favorable position in financial matters and in the aspects of relationships. Jezebel needs to control her life, because she cannot let her guard down as in the past, when others let her down. Her control of her life draws her circle around her, letting only a few if any into it, and the interactions of the opposite sex and any transactions or financial negotiations will be for her complete satisfaction. Ironic that the very same way Jezebel had been manipulated and used by men is the same way she will “work it” to get what she wants. The best possible celebrity of someone who is “workin’ her Jezebel” would be the popular female rapper, Cardi B. From Cardi’s “Bodak Yellow” through “Be Careful with Me”, Cardi is warning anyone that she is vulnerable and had been taken for granted in the past, being financially and emotionally mistreated. She then lets the subject of the song hat she will not be fooled again. A person that experiences this type of behavior develops a tough shell and will cut you out of her life if you dare show any disloyalty. Clearly, Cardi is voicing the pain of many women in today’s world, because of certain methods of mental and emotional “slavery” that the opposite sex has utilized against them. A woman’s nature is to nurture and care, both emotionally and physically, and when a male has “done her wrong”, the tears cried causes her to harden her heart and not only cause her to seek or lash out in revenge, but also changes the manner in which she interacts with any future males. Her attitude is “Me first…and maybe I’ll consider you.” Using oils and other items designed for magical practices that include Jezebel root, a main component of a family of products that empower women who will attract the wealthy, as these individuals appear to have control over their lives (because of their baubles and trinkets). Jezebel products also allows a woman to take control of her personal and physical encounters. Considering we are living in the time of “pussy hats”, a symbol of women...
